A skateboard(deck) is a piece of wood or fiber glass that is held up by two pieces of metal that is shaped like a T. The are also called trucks. Skateboarding has three different was to skate. One is vert, its when you skate in a U shaped ramp called a half pipe. There are also jumps that is half a U called a quater pipe. Street is another way, that is when you skate the streets and do tricks on what ever you see such as stairs or a walkway railing. The last way is both. Thats when you can do both Street and Vert equaly the same. There is two different ways to ride a skateboard, Regular and Goofy. Regular is when your left foot is facing foward. And Goofy is when your right foot is facing foward. There are many different brands for boards. Some of these brands are Element, Lib Tech, Flip, Girl,Bird House, Zero, Shortys, Toy Mechine, Black Label, and World Industries.
